Important Things to Know About Clean Room

Clean room is where manufacturing of pharmaceutical products, medical equipment, electronics, or biopharmaceutical products are done. It is also where scientific researchers are often conducted.  Cleanroom is an environment where chemical vapors, dust, aerosol particles, airborne microbes, and other types of environmental pollutants must be controlled and maintained in a low level.
This environment must always be cleaned and maintained using clean room products including ESD Singapore. These products will continuously remove contamination from the air. It may include contamination from fluids, human, tools, and the facility itself. In every room, there is a standard that will indicate on how much particles are needed to be removed. The specified particle size will tell how much the level of contamination is needed to be controlled.
Aside from the standards, there are also rules and guidelines that must be strictly followed by the people who enter the room. It includes the right usage of clean room products, which can avoid contaminating the environment. The cleaner the environment is, the more controlled the contamination will be. The airflow rates and direction, humidity, pressurization, and temperature are other elements inside the environment that must be considered to be able to maintain the cleanliness of the air.
The contaminants can produce killer defect and can be categorized as particulates and film type. It has to be prevented from getting inside the environment. Contamination is the presence of unwanted contaminant or impurity in materials or surfaces, which are usually come from an act or process. Some of these contaminations can come from tools such as wear and friction particles, lubricants and emissions, dusters, mops, vibrations, and broom. While the facility can also contribute in creating contamination, which may come from spills and leaks, air conditioning debris, construction materials such as saw dust and sheet rock, room vapor and air, ceiling, and floor.
For products, aluminum particles, debris, quartz flakes, and silicon chips are considered to be type of contaminants. Fluid can also contribute to contaminating the room, which comes from the contaminants in moisture, plasticizers, organics, cleaning chemicals, bacteria, and particulates floating in air. Even the oil and skin flakes, clothing debris such as fibers and lint, perfume and cosmetics, and saliva of human can also be considered as contaminants.
Because of several source of contaminants, a contamination control program is needed to be implemented while inside the environment. One of this is the electrostatic discharge or ESD Singapore, which is created when moving air, rubbing two surfaces, or even people walking or touching surface, which is why cleaning managers and other personnel need ESD protection materials to avoid damage. Aside from this, cleaning is also part of the control program, which is an essential element to control contamination, in which the procedures and application must be written and agreed by the contractors and the management.
Another process included in the program is the filtration that consists of mechanisms that are essential in removing particles in liquid and gas, and effectively control the contamination. Using of garments including masks, gloves, jump suits, smocks, and head covers that are required to wear during contamination control, and varies from the location is also needed to be followed.
